What are learning ecosystems?
Learning ecosystems are the natural environments (home, school, communities, universities, digital) in which people learn and unlearn throughout their lives.
They are influenced by multiple local and global dynamics, such as cultures, resources, laws, policies, traditions, leadership, organizations, people and relationships, among others.
In a learning ecosystem, learning opportunities and outcomes are inherently and actively shaped by a wide network of people, organizations and services specific to each context, such as schools, universities, libraries, community centers, theaters, museums, after-school programs, sports centers, social media, digital devices, and religious organizations, among others.
Ecosystems interconnect local and global learning environments as a whole
Our deepest question
How can we understand, design and lead local and national learning ecosystems for individual, collective and planet flourishing?
Who we are?
An international hub for learning ecosystems research and practice, based in Blanquerna, URL, Barcelona, Spain.
What we do?
- We conduct research aimed to better understand the emergence and impact of advanced learning ecosystems in holistic learning, belonging, inclusion, equity, wellbeing and collective flourishing.
- We co-create research-based frameworks and tools that empower educational leaders from schools to government to design and weave learning ecosystems to improve holistic learning, belonging, inclusion, equity, wellbeing and collective flourishing..
